Thank you...I find knife throwing to be very relaxing. Well, at least when i have a good day of knife throwing anyway. It takes my mind off everything else going on and I just focus on all I have to do to throw and I do it for maybe a half hour or so when I get the chance to.
Yes, originally, this was taught to me by Joe Rossi. He never showed anyone this for some reason but we used to work with it once in a while at the old Kuntao school back in the old days. I found it interesting that there is more to knife throwing than just throwing and hoping it hits the target. The body positioning, the low center of gravity, the footwork, etc all have its place in this area of Kuntao.
Bamboo spikes? They seem so light. I am sure the distance was close to get in deeper with something else? I never heard of throwing bamboo spikes. I would love to see what they look like.

I will make sure to pack some Bamboo Spikes when i visit, i have carried them for the better part of 30 years and have never had any problems with security/customs at airports, etc. In trained hands they are the ultimate concealded weapon.
Footwork, posture, grip, wrist alignment and body mechanics are all essential in successfully throwing a spike, during my younger days the elders and I would often hunt with a handful of Spikes diced in a touch of poison.
In the 1920's there was an assassination in manila of a european dignitary. The weapon of choice - A Bamboo Spike, thrown from a balcony 17ft away.

I can't wait to see how these spikes work. 17 feet with such light objects. this is VERY interesting.
Lets add some Kuntao knife throwing tactics here..
